"Horsemanship is the art of understanding the horse and building a relationship built on mutual respect and trust. Building deep connections in this way allows children to achieve and develop a sense of purpose. Kids see they can make profound changes in their own life and their pony's life, leading to a great sense of empowerment." - Lynn Henry, founder of Think Like a Pony.
When kids follow their own passions....learning happens
Our program is supported by a wealth of educational material. The Think Like a Pony series of workbooks, written by Lynn Henry, and endorsed by Carl Hester, Olympic gold medalist dressage rider, is the foundation of our program that helps students progress safely from ground work to riding.
We also incorporate the Horse Lovers Math curriculum of workbooks and exercises, by Deborah Stacey.
"Horse Lover’s Math brings children, horses and math together. Math questions drawn from the real world of horses are not perceived as “math” but as useful information about horses. One is not asked “Why do I have to know this?” If the subject matter is about horses, children want to know." ~ Deborah Stacey, founder of Horse Lovers Math
As you can see, The Pampered Pony Club is a unique approach to horsemanship that inspires, educates and empowers children. Our mission is to support young people by offering experiences that facilitate positive youth development as well as helping them to achieve their horsemanship goals. We pledge to provide a safe learning environment so that a young person can thrive physically, mentally and emotionally and work towards a successful unmounted and mounted relationship with horses.
